Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Ability Sound Design Compilation
Category _portfolio I was the Senior Sound Designer on Marvel’s Midnight Suns in charge of defining the overall style for how the character’s should sound during combat. I provided the majority of the playable character sound design and foley for the base game, and this video is a small sampling of some of the abilities I created.

XCOM 2: Templar Sound Design
Category Video Games Year 2017 I designed and implemented many of the ability sound effects for the Templar character class in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. The Templars are humans with a strong focus on using psychic energy, so my sound design focused on blending synthesized and organic sounds together to represent their supernatural abilities.

Category Video Games Year 2013 Working as a contractor, I created all of the sound effects for the characters Smolderdash and Fire Kraken in the game Skylanders Swap Force available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

Category Video Games I provided all the music and sound effects for this opening cutscene for a prototype game called Sentient created by the Philadelphia based game company Play Eternal.

Category Video Games I did all the sound design, ambience creation, dialogue & music editing for this opening cutscene from the game Skylanders Battlegrounds.
Other things that I worked on for this game include character sound design, ambience creation, and music mixing & editing.

XCOM 2: Ambience SFX
Category Video Games Year 2017 For XCOM 2: War of the Chosen I designed and implemented the environmental ambience sound effects for two different environments. They’re a combination of randomly triggered and spatialized 3D sounds with 2D beds to support them, so the ambience is ever-changing and varied over long periods of time.

Alesis Strike Sound Design
Category Sound Design Year 2017 I was the lead sound designer for the Alesis Strike electronic drum kit, where I recorded and designed over 100 kits for the product’s initial release. The kit sounds range from classic natural drum tones to modern electronic sounds only achievable through an electronic kit.

Category Sound Design Year 2015 Created the sound design for these bumpers for inMusic brands including Akai, Denon, Numark, and Sonivox.
About Adam
Adam is a professional sound designer, composer, and producer based in the Boston area.
After graduating from the Berklee College of Music in 2007 with degrees in both Music Production and Engineering and Music Synthesis, he began to work alongside professional keyboardist David Rosenthal on projects including the broadway musical A Tale of Two Cities and the Billy Joel : Last Play at Shea concerts.
Adam landed his first video game role as an audio designer for Activision’s Guitar Hero handheld titles, and has worked both as a sound designer and composer for video game franchises that include XCOM 2, Marvel, Skylanders, and Transformers.
A self described ‘synthesizer geek’ with a passion for music technology, Adam has also worked in the music instrument industry doing sound design for products by Sonivox, Akai, and Alesis. He writes and performs music with his electronic rock band Big Time Kill and plays a wide variety of instruments including guitar, bass, keyboards, vibraphone, and mandolin.
